Setting up Entourage (Outlook Express) on Mac.
| Start up Entourage. Click Tools. |

Under Tools, click Accounts |

In Accounts window, Click the Mail tab. Then click New. |

The wizard starts. Enter your name. Click the right arrow. |

Click "I already have...". Enter your email address. For example: yourname@spanmail.net Click the right arrow. |

For the Account Type, select POP or IMAP. IMAP is the newer, more flexible protocol and is recommended. You can read about IMAP and POP in the other FAQs. (Unfortunately, you can't just change a POP account to an IMAP account, you must start over and create a new account.) Enter your POP or IMAP mail host name. This will be mail.spanmail.net unless you have your own domain. (Some organizations that have SpeedSpan Spanmail accounts for their domain have host names that start with "mailhost" but most start with "mail" so check the information you got when your account was established.) The same name will go in the SMTP server name. Fuse (Cinti Bell), AOL and some other ISP's will not let you use your own SMTP server for sending mail. So you'll have to use smtp.fuse.net for the SMTP server if Fuse is your ISP, or find out what your ISP's smtp server is called. On AOL, we suggest you use webmail, unless you want to use AOL's email service. To use webmail, go to www.speedspan.com and login at the bottom left. Click the right arrow. |

Enter your account ID. Your account name is your full email name for spanmail. (Most mail servers you have used expect just the part before the @ sign.) Enter your password. Click "Save Password in Mac OS Keychain." Click the right arrow. |

Congratulations (it says). And you are done, after you... Enter a name by which you'll remember this account. This is more important if you have many email accounts. No one else sees this name. Click the "Include this account..." checkbox. Your email address is assumed to be your Reply address, so you don't have to re-enter it as you do in Windows OE. Click Finish. |

If you want to edit your account, select "Accounts" in the "Tools" menu
as above. Click the Mail tab. Click the account name. Click Edit |

You can change your Account name to something you recognize more easily if you want. You can change the Name that is sent with your email if you wish Other items won't usually change unless you entered them incorrectly to start with. Do not change any of the settings behind the " ... advanced receiving/sending options" buttons. |
